The original recipe was made in a base of Elk's blood, to which was added roots, herbs, and fruit/berries. Recently I have read that there are 56 different herbs, roots and fruit peelings in the recipe. Most sources do not claim that the stuff contains any kind of animal blood. My feelings tell me there are still certain esoteric circles that adhere to the "original recipe", to be used in ceremony and healing practices. Who will ever really know?
umm, yes, well i believe that the history of the elixer known to most specimins as jagermeister actually started out as an elixer created from the blood of the groupper fish, which as you may know, is commonly found throughout the european continents. As well as the groupper blood; the other so called herbs found in the elixer are unknown at this time. Thats the real story-i don't know where deer/elk blood ever came from. to all of you enjoying a nice jager buzz--- Cheers from Philly-!!!
