(And didn't I hear that some fuel tax went up when VAT was reduced ? If so how come it didn't come back off again when VAT went up ?)
I'm unsure what the global crude price has done recently, but I suspect someone is profiteering somewhere.
When you think it was "only" seventy something a litre a few years ago, difficult to believe the increase since then isn't anything more than squeezing the consumer for all that can be taken from them.

Hi squarebear- the VAT increase of around 3p seemed to go through right at the beginning of January as expected. It's the subsequent increase over the last week that's being queried.
However, while TESCO last week pushed its prices up by 3p a litre to 110.9 for unleaded, I notice my shell garage is still charging 'only' 107.9 .
