What is the maximum temperature that a microwave can heat an object to?

My question was to how hot the temprature would get to if i was to heat an object for long enough?

Microwaves excite water molecules when you get above 100 degrees the steam tends to escape.

The fact that microwaves can't get very hot is why you can't brown things in a microwave.

This relates to commercial kitchen systems specially designed systems can heat other substances to higher temperatures

That will depend on a number of factors including:
Degree of insulation
Surface area of oven

In practice, it will depend on the setting of the thermal cut-out that will automatically switch it off.
Water can be 'superheated' in a microwave oven to over 100°C without there being any visible disturbance on the surface, nor any of the bubbles associated with boiling. In this state, there's real danger of scald risk. If the container is moved, or anything is placed in the water, like sugar, or a teaspoon, there can be a sudden release of energy. This causes the water to boil violently, with a result similar to a minor explosion in the liquid. It's termed the 'Volcano Effect''.
