have you ever not eaten all day so you can 'fill up' when there? I hear this all the time from my guests..'I haven't eaten all day' they tell me as they walk in....is this the norm?

Guests? B&b?
Yes....but I think it has the opposite effect with me. My stomach shrinks very fast and I'm a bit of a grazer...
They need to fast all year before coming round for a Dinner Party at your house mercia! How do they get home afterwards ? Heavy Goods Vehicle !! lol
Is this for the casting of a porn movie?
hiya filth, never told us how you got on with neighbours?
no, not for me i can eat all day long, i probably would not eat such a big lunch if i was coming round to yours for dinner!

My thing is, I say nobody ever leaves my house hungry! People always come to mine in taxis, because of the amount of booze they'll imbibe - from pre-dinner drinks, to wine/champagne with the meal (sometimes a different wine for each course) to port, cognac and liqueurs after.
Do you have a bed and breakfast?
I might not leave your house hungry but there would be a good chance that I will be peckish by the time I get home...

Morning Mccfluff, up for a spot of 'tasting' today?

Tonights DP menu is....

Stilton and pear salad on a bed of rocket with walnut dressing, or chicken liver pate with brandy and double cream, salad garnish, melba toast...then roast leg of lamb, with a lemon zest, herby garlicky crust, rosemary roast potatoes, new potatoes, garden peas, baby carrots, Or a fillet steak with red wine sauce
Then I haven't decided on pud yet...might do a toffee-apple pie with homemade cinnamon ice cream, or homemade coffee Bailey's in a chocolate box....or I might go completely retro, and do Crepes Suzette ( thin pancakes with orange juice and orange liqueur, flambed)......
Dp=oh dinner party? Why do you leave a thread but ignore users questions?

No bigfoot, just a private residence!! I meant to say Homemade coffee Bailey's ice cream in a chocolate box
Ok mercia, sounds good!
i think i could ably manage to taste all of that, no wobbly food in site!
Question Author
sorry bigfoot I was on the phone too - more guests want to come sorry I didn't mean to ignore you
Bigfoot?

Why bother cooking if you know your going to eat out. I always eat before I go to a dinner party incase I don't like the food.

Swanko - I ALWAYS check if anybody 'new' is coming, if they have any allergies, dislikes, special diets, are vegetarian/vegan etc, so there shouldn't be any problem. I put the main course on the plate, and the accompanyments on the table and let people help themselves to veg/sauces for the same reason
if we go for an afternoon buffet - then no breakfast!
Hi Suzie1: I wrote a letter to the neighbours and went to hand it to them. They were actually in so spoke to them about their complaints. They seemed friendly and understanding but you never know. Im glad I wrote that polite but firm letter and actually got to meet them. I hope everything will be om from now on. Lets see.
Do you ever do anything other than cook mercia? And do you ever cook normal bog standard food like egg & chips?
