I just went out for a paper, and I bought a Dime bar.

The first one I picked up was broken in two inside the wrapper ...

... so I put it back, and felt them all until I found an unbroken one.

Then, I opened it, and broke it up so I could eat it.

Do you buy broken choccy bars ?

Not found one for ages. On a similar subject of broken treats. My parents used to buy boxes of broken or misshapen biscuits for us kids as treats.
your a fruitcake jj xx
You're soooo right - we don't want broken choccy or biscuits, but then as soon as we open them what's the first thing we do? Break them of course.... !

Exactly, Sals ...

It's like saying ...

"If I want broken chocolate, which I do ... then I will break it, thank you very much"
i think i would probably do the same
But we may want to break it at a different angle or something - customer's prerogative.
i like to break off bite size pieces so if it was snapped in half, that would be wrong, it wouldn;t work

its also wrong that i'm thinking very hard about this -
Nope.

But I have been known to buy broken biscuits in the past.

Aah, yes ... I hadn't considered the "angle of break" ... erm ... angle.

China ...

I don't think I've ever bought a packet of biscuits in which the first one or two haven't been broken !!
That's so true JJ and Salla, but if the broken chocolates are at a reduced price do buy.

I don't think they reduce Dime bars much.

On the continent they are called "Daim"

I suppose that's pronounced the same.
They're Daim over here now, I brought a milka 'daim' bar the other day (a big one on sale for 50p :c) and I've not seen an actual 'dime' bar in ages... They're my favourite. I prefer them to green and blacks butterscotch which I also love.
