I have a water filter jug at home but rather than changing the filter once a month I change it once every 2 months to save money. I cant tell the difference in taste to be honest.
Is there a reason for having to change the filter once a month? Is it because after this time it doesnt filter water as thoroughly?

me too :o)
i can't remember the last time I changed our filter, we need to filter because of the chalk-hard water, but the kettle's not furring up yet!

thought I was the only one that changes the filter every 2 months!
I just hope nothing lurgful is growing in mine......
I also have a filter in my kettle. it needs changing (saw a bit of limescale) but I really can't be @rsed!
That's the spirit!!
It really depends on how much water you put through it, rather than a time period.

We have really hard water, and the kettle stops furring up when the Brita filter is changed. It is back to full chalkiness after about three and a half weeks.
Where do you live, panic? We are on the Downs so all chalk, but SO FAR (and the filer jug is yonks years old) the kettle is pretty fur-free. I can't get away with not using Calgon in the washing machine either.
I suspect your water in your pipes doesn't come from your chalky ground then.

I live in Essex, and our water is some of the chalkiest in the country.
I thought about getting a filter on my incoming water system - it comes from elsewhere in Kent but everything furrs up given half the chance. My old boiler was a sight to behold!
