The Leicester tourist office, snappily called Discover Leicester, has a guide in which there is a list of family-friendly eating places but they are keen to point out that this is not an exhaustive list. There is also a list of children-friendly hotels which may have restaurants attached that welcome non-residents. Call 0116 299 8888 for a copy of the guide.
