My partner is currently giving up smoking but his need to nibble is driving him crazy.  He says he would rather start smoking again than put on weight.  Any suggestions for healthy, low fat nibbles that taste nice in bulk and can be carried around easily?

Twiglets, I swear by them.
Raw vegetables (in ziplock bags) and baby rusks.  Twiglets are very high in carbs (tragically).

I'm just beginning my 3rd non-smoking week.

I chop celery, peppers and carrot sticks and munch on them, and drink loads of water.  I've lost 7lb since giving up!

What about:

Seeds, grapes, raisins, sugar free sweets, french fries (the Walkers crisp type)?

Dried banana chips?  Those bags of dried fruit?  Also, try this website it's really helpful:

Natalie - I don't smoke, but like the idea of dried banana chips. Do they contain sugar or what I really mean is 'are they fattening?
baby rusks - even the so called 'low sugar/sugar free' varieties are outrageously high in sugar.
Get him to start going to the gym, then he can eat what he wants, and smoking won't seem as appealing when he starts to get fitter.
Pop corn, if you get the stuff you pop in bags in micro & not the ready made stuff that's covered in toffee. It's a dieters friend & good to have as a snack anytime, just put it in a freezer bag or tupperware container. It's also low GI so won't send the blood sugar rocketing.

Banana chips are quite unhealthy unfortunately.

I alwyas takea pot each of carrots, cherry tomatoes, and raisins to work with me to nibble.

Oh no! I bought a packet of what I thought would be healthy dried bananas from Tesco today & have eaten half the bag. You can't win!
