I cannot tolerate most of it
Too many types of salad to just hate or love them all. Marmite is always the same so you can either love or hate it.

Me too,but you cant call alot of it salad when its got copious amounts of cheese prawns and beans in it...
Here's a salad poem.

There was lettuce on the ceiling,

Shredded carrots on the floor,

Bits of radish on the windows,

Cabbage hanging from the door.

That's what happened to our kitchen,

All of that and plenty more,

When my mom tried out the shredder

That she bought the day before.
That would be Cheese salad, Prawn salad and Bean salad.............

Salad itself is mighty tasty and things that you seem to think are extras, I regard as an integral part of the construction.

I'd be happy to eat a salad every day.
I've just rediscovered salad cream which means I want salad every night now!
If salad WERE just iceburg lettuce(eeeuuww), wilted cucumber and soggy tomato...then yes..it's boring as hell. But even the salads of the Romans were more adventurous, as this quote from Wiki says...

" History

Food historians say the Romans ate mixed greens and dressing, and the Babylonians were known to have dressed greens with oil and vinegar two thousand years ago.[3][4][5] In his 1699 book, Acetaria: A Discourse on Sallets, John Evelyn attempted with little success to encourage his fellow Britons to eat fresh salad greens.[6] Royalty dabbled in salads: Mary, Queen of Scots, ate boiled celery root over salad covered with creamy mustard dressing, truffles, chervil, and slices of hard-boiled eggs.[4] "
Ooops....meant to say "royalty"...not Romans.
