Same old Same old??

Does anyone else or a member of their family always have to use the same ingredient in pretty much every single dinner they make so much so that you can't taste anything but that ingredient?

*cue rant*

Anytime my dad "cooks" a dinner he has to load it with garlic and I mean LOAD it with garlic, he's ruined so many dinners by drowning the food with it!! He's recently discovered garlic salt..it was like all his Christmas' had come at once.
For todays dinner which I passed on...Garlic chicken and roasted garlic potatoes...(I'm in the sitting room and can smell it already).
He gets peed off then when he's about to make it and you say, Don't make me anything..You'd swear he thought the rest of the family were bloody vampires!! (Sorry I'm a tad wound up today)

Anyone else do this??

Similarly, my mother is one of those Northern women who boils vegetables until they turn to mush. It wasn't until I first went to stay with one of my school friends that I realised that vegetables all had individual tastes!

Mark, My friends mam does that with beg so much so that the brocolli is just mush!! It's horrible!!
Boxtops, I would imagine they are equally as bad as each other when it comes to cooking..

I make dinner several times durng the week and each time he says "You should of put garlic in that" haha

Aw I didn't mean to seem ungrateful or disrespectful, I love my dad I just think it's funny he puts it in every dinner he makes.. I think that's why i make dinner so often.

My mum wouldn't use the same ingredients, but if she tried something new and everyone liked it, she would make it all the blooming time till everyone was heartily sick of it. The she'd go in a huff when someone finally got up the guts to broach the subject with her. How I remember the winter of 87 and chicken chasseur every other day.... :)

I used to know a guy who smothered everything in tomato ketchup.(I never cooked for him!) I could forgive him say, a plate of chips, or a bacon/sausage sandwich, but no. Liver, roast chicken (even over the gravy!!) boiled ham sandwiches, curry, pie mash and gravy, out would come the tomato sauce.

Yeah, quite enjoying it..I feel sorry for the stick the England team are getting, it bothers me that the media and the fans are so quick to lose faith in them.
I'm loving this weather though, Happy days :)
