Mrs Backdrifter and I will be arriving in Glasgow off the sleeper when we start our holiday next month. So we'll be in the city centre from about 7am, looking for a decent breakfast. I know the city quite well but haven't gone seeking breakfast there before, so can any one recommend me a good place? It can be trad Scottish, American, anything, but interesting independent places preferred. A web search has given me a few suggestions but if you know better please let me know. Thanks!

Edinburgh.
No, seriously, central Glasgow is dismal and before the clean-up is done. There is a lot of vomit and urine around. However the station concourse is quite nicely done and I bet you will get what you want there.

But the station will be all predictable chains won't it?

You're telling me there isn't a single independent cafe worth visiting for breakfast in the city centre?
There's bound to be a Wetherspoons nearby somewhere as they serve early Breakfasts from about 7 am

Thanks. But I don't much like chains, I prefer more individual places, that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. I wondered if anyone with better knowledge than me of central Glasgow knew of good breakfast places that fitted the bill.
