Party.. do i have to Notify police?

Hi everyone x Its my 30th Birthday and im having a party this Saturday, its at home and will be outside. Do i have to Notify the police of this? My sister seems to think i do.
We live in rented accomodation, and set back from the road, the 5 houses are in our own seperated part, and have a green out the front of just ours and nxt doors where we are planning on having the party, bouncy castles, gazebo and music, bbq etc. Its all owned by the same landlord, the land and all our houses. 3 out of the 4 other neighbours are coming and the other neighbour wont as they are old, but the green is not out the front of their house.
Anyone have any idea?? many thanks xx

I wouldn't have thought so. Tell the landlord and make sure it's ok with the 4th neighbour.

You don't have to notify the Police.

If the party is on the green, it's on private property.

You might want to think about public liability insurance just for the event.

My sister said that she went to a party at the wknd and the police arrived as it was noisy and told everyone to go home as they hadnt been informed of the party beforehand. But i dont want to call the police station and waste their time x

That would be because of the noise.

It's no harm to phone them. Just call your local station to put your mind at rest.

if all the neighbours have been made aware of it then who will complain to the police about the noise.
Obviously once it gets to 11pm you should turn the music down for the benefit of your elderly neighbours.

We live in quite a snooty area, and the road we live on does have other houses and one neighbour opposite moans about the kids playing out the front frequently.
I have emailled the landlord to check, we have had parties out there before but those were in the day. And i cant imagine it going on past 11pm anyway as we all have children.

i really dont see how notifying the police would make any difference anyway, if you are being to loud they will still come and tell you to turn the music down or stop that party.

Obviously once it gets to 11pm you should turn the music down for the benefit of your elderly neighbours.
Lets not forget children, Pets and us non elderly neighbors that may be working the next day redcrx!

BC, when i said that, i was under the impression (from the original question) that the only neighbours were the 4 other properties. If that had been the case then there was only the elderly neighbours to be concerned about.

I dont plan on having loud music, just some in the background, some beers, games and good food and conversation x Looking forward to it, just wanted to check as she had mentioned it xx

Notifying the police will guarantee that they'll turn up - they'll see it as a golden opportunity to get some nice cushy work to meet their arrest targets - much easier than going after muggers, drug dealers, armed bank robbers ...

We all in 4 houses we have 6 dogs so we could set them on the police lol not to mention the masses of kids too!! lol
