Surely coating and frying them in batter would make them taste nicer? Maybe even dipping in melted cheese and then breadcrumbs before frying? Agree or do you have a better way of making them taste palatable to those that want to eat them?

Did I say 30 or 40 minutes? Sorry, meant 3 or 4 minutes.
By the way, I've never had a lardon. What have I been missing?
Sandy just bacon dice small...
I love brussel sprouts, in any shape or form
Apparently I've got to ask Mr Helmet what a lardon is, sandy
why would mr helmet know, sandy, is his first name Heston?
No boxy, but my first name is lard... (nothing to do with me - it was ttfn's suggestion)
I suppose the weather is my fault too now?
Nothing wrong with the weather in my hometown ttfn. Why, what have you done to yours ?
Apparently it is dark oop norf lardon
Perhaps it's ten to 9 up there, whereas it's still ten to 8 down south!

Lol, Ummmm that's actually a great idea to use for Aprils fool day.
apparently its a genetic thing. Some of us, including me, find the bitterness of sprouts really nasty, others don't notice it.

I also find artificial sweeteners leave an unpleasant aftertaste. I even get the aftertaste if I don't know I have had the sweetener. eg in drinks which have both artificial sweetener and sugar.
Woof....I'm the same. I can't drink any diet drinks....and anything with sweeteners taste artificial.
I absolutely love brussel sprouts. Just cooked for about 5 or 6 minutes and still having a little bit of crunch. Surely the bitter brussel sprouts are a thing of the past. I remember them as a child. Nowadays they all taste quite sweet to me. Must be my genes. I like sour and bitter anyway. Not a lover of sweet.
Boil them for 30 mins then let them cool and eat them cold.

I love them
Brussells sprouts ahould be very lightly cooked.
Overcooking ruins them.
Raw is good too.

Why on earth would anyone want to disguise their wonderful flavour and texture?

Thirty minutes????!!! No way. That would ruin them.
