Ive got some steak in the freezer, which I must admit, I dont remember buying! It looks quite fatty, but I was wondering if I trimmed it, could I use it in a stew or would this be wasting good meat?

If it is a 'Rib-eye' steak the fat marbling the meat disappears on cooking.
Usually I grill my steaks, however, I make an exception for rib-eye........it is delicious when fried; and, incidentally, is one of the more expensive steaks on a restaurant menu !

Rib steak is delicious grilled. Or you can do a mini roast which will take about 20mins and get some nice juices to make gravy. Stewing it would indeed be very wasteful.
