I was told to put my excess hot chilli peppers into my olive oil to flavour it but it has gone bad. It has started to get a manky crum on the top and the chillis are starting to foam.

How am I supposed to do it?

Looks like you have to use dried peppers not fresh

PS according to what I see when I googled for your answers, it's easy to develop botulism if you don't do it right - it sounds as if this might have happened to yours - I would throw it away, straight away, to be on the safe side.
