Does any one know a truely traditional recipe for Goan Vindaloo ?

Madhur Jaffrey has one in her "Taste of India" book. You might be able to borrow this from the library.

I made it once - she uses pork. It is nothing like a restaurant vindaloo at all. 

The name vindaloo apparently comes from the Portuguese for wine and garlic.
