Iceland food cant really be THAT nice can it ??? I must admit the adverts for Iceland lately make their food cheap n cheerfully tempting....anyone tried any of their select items care to comment ?

Someone asked me recently if I'd been to Iceland I said no to both. I'm told there are some good buys there. But I suppose it's like Lidl or Aldi, you have to know what is nice, or if somebody recommends something.

Hi AYG - I rarely go in but they always seem to have some sort of deal going on with non-frozen, branded goods (tea bags, biscuits, tinned goods, etc).

Their ice lollies are good - especially the ones that are a bit like Magnum ice lollies, and cheap too.

Their Tex Mex selection isn't bad either

If I had one closer to me I'd go more often. Things like Cod in Butter sauce are a bargain.

I detest their latest TV ad, but their food's ok.

I only buy frozen veggies in there now, everything else is bloody awful!

Especially their frozen, party, nibble-type selections with stuff wrapped in filo pastry, utter garbage!

I hate the discriminating ads,and I'm a Mum!
I think it is hit and miss with the food though,veg and sweet stuff mostly seem OK,but the chicken and the processed meat have either no taste or bits of bone in them,sometimes anyway.The indian take away meals are the best as far as OH is concerned,but I had a spag bol,it was OK,so I got another and it was disgusting!
