Do any of you own electronic scales?

I'm thinking of purchasing these and I want to know whether weighing at the high end throws the calibration out for lower measurements?

Pastafreak what I mean is if I weigh heavy items all the time and then need to weigh something light weighing only a couple of grams will it do this effectively? I've never used kitchen scales electronic or manually so am a bit in the dark about this.

yep, i have those very ones, have just used them actually. not quite sure what you mean but i've not had any problems using them at all, very easy to change from oz to g, and to zero-ise them for adding on ingredients. best bit of kitchen kit i've bought in a long time and wonder why i waited so long. i'm sure you won't be disappointed with them.

I know what you mean-but have no idea if the sensitivity of the scales is affected. I suppose it depends on what you mean by heavy. My experience with digital scales has been without any problems that I'm aware of.

right, i think i know what you mean now. i doubt very much you'd have a problem, you can have a heavy bowl on them, zero them, add ingredients, zero them again, add further ingredients, zero them again and so on. can't imagine there'd be any issues with what i think you mean :o)

They are calibrated up to 5Kg so as long as you don't overload them by trying to weight above that weight they will be fine.

have just road tested them for you.
i had it on lbs and oz, put a big plate on, zero-ised it, added a heavy bowl, zero-ised it and changed it to grammes, added a small kiwi fruit. perfick!

i use this one & would be lost without it, and in answer to your question I can get exact measurements in low denominations for grams or ounces

you can use any bowl you happen to have with the small salter one. you have to find a home for the bowl with those that come with one, something which i found a nuisance.

I have these too.Bought them from Amazon and got white,not black.I use them all the time for all different weights and they're great. I also love that you can use any bowl as I have a tiny kitchen with very little storage.

I've got some and the only thing I don't like about them is if you are measuring something messy or greasy - like butter - you have to put it on some kitchen roll as you can't wash the whole thing (well, I don't think you can remove the weighing plate bit).
