I have just opened the mini dish pizzas and the 1 pizza has a green substance around the edge underneath, The other pizza in the pack is perfect and have never seen the green stuff on any before and have used them for years now.

I have took photos and e-mailed them over to the customer relations team,

what may it be as it tasted funny (1st thought was maybe food dye).
has anybody else had this and what else should i do apart from email the email address on side of the box.

I would also return the product to where you bought them-get your money back.
If you've not heard from the manufacturer during working hours tomorrow, blitz them with loads of emails...make sure they are aware of you,and your complaint does not get pushed aside.
PS...are you sure the 'green substance' is not either parsley or pesto?
Question Author
how can i find out what it was that was on the pizza??
i wont get pushed aside, the pizza and all packaging is in the box and in a bag to one side away from all other rubbish.
i bought the item from asda but tbf as its chicago town i think the book lies with chicago town as its their item, asda cant tell there's something wrong while its in a box.

well i eat parsley and it didn't taste of that, not sure what pesto is but it tasted funny. (when i say funny i mean not very nice and bad aftertaste).
Mould comes to mind. Hope it's not...
True...unless it is due to how the pizza has been stored. You may need to send the pizza back to the manufacturer.
I thought of mould also. Pesto would be listed in the ingredients-it's made of basil, garlic and pine nuts.
Question Author
i thought mould myself after id tasted it.
its just a cheese and tomota pizza, so there aint gonna be no need for fancy ingredients or anything but has its a pack of 2, the other was perfectly fine. this is what baffles me the most
Sounds like mould to me, Ive seen moulded pizza and bread...

You found a green substance that you thought might be mould, you photographed it, then ate it?

Is it me?
lol Naz - no its not
You ate it? Why?
i am amazed you are even asking...no green in a cheese an tom pizza...bread mould is green...its mould.

it wont kill you though

take it back to asda...it may have been left out of the freezer...or their freezers are faulty...its may have been stored sideways and the other one was lower and kept frozen
Question Author
i ate it as i thought it may have been something used on another process of pizza as sometimes you get cheese and tomato pizza with a few herbs sprinkled on the top, i thought it may have been this, obviously not. when i tasted it it was spat out straight away.
anyway, i contacted customer relations, they are sending me some packaging to send the pizza to them to investigate, but i'm sending 1/2 as i'm keeping the other 1/2 to send off to food standards agency if i disagree with their findings.
