How Sensitive - BBC2 Hairy Bikers cooking Pork
7 Answers
My goodness me, the diversity police need to be out at Aunty Beeb
For some strange reason, largely the cold rain outside, I have the Hairy Bikers on the googgle box (I can't stand that dreadful Anne Robinson).
A moment of pure genius - the Hairy two demonstrated how to cook pork tenderloin, including glazing the pan using Calvados in front of their contestants.
The only "problem" was that one of the family teams were of Muslim origin from Bengal......they did smile though, but then what else could they do?

The programme's not live so they must have agreed to it. Do also bear in mind that there are some liberal Muslims (as there are Jews) who will handle pork products - and some I know who not only eat bacon but also drink beer, they are not strict adherents.
Yes mainly Sunnites in origin, especially with booze as their interpretation of the Koran is that an excess of alcohol is a poison (though one can understand the more hard line health angle as in knocking back a couple of beers and then heading out in a 40+C heat would be "nuts").
The dress of the women though did suggest more observant Muslims though.
