If you've got a frozen turkey say 10lb or over tonight is the best time to take it out of the freezer to defrost, leave it in a cool place covered with a clean tea-towel. Or if you've got a big enough space in the fridge that will be fine too,

(Make sure the cat or the dog can't get to it)

And here's another handy tip. Don't do what my mate in Scotland did last year. She left her turkey in the car because she couldn't fit it in the fridge and thought it might be nice and cold. On 24 December she realised it was a frozen lump of ice which would never be defrosted by Christmas Day...... I think they ate it at Easter.
Two good tips Jemisa - I have an upturned laundry basket over the defrosting turkey. The cat soon moved the basket - so now there is a very large very heavy tool box on top of the laundry basket covering the turkey. I expect the cat will stop circling it soon :-)
