Most of the Vesta range can be found in branches of B & M Bargains.

Vesta curries are still made, but mainly for the foreign market. They are available in the UK in discount stores and corner shops. I bought one a few years back for the sake of sheer nostalgia. All the labelling and instructions were in Dutch. I have often wondered how produce manufactured for foreign consumption sometimes finds its way on to the shelves of these shops. I once bought a jar of Nescafé in such a shop at under half the price of that in the local supermarket. Fine, until I opened the jar and found that it did not taste as usual; also the labelling was in Portuguese. The words 'falling' and 'back of lorry' spring to mind.

Just read all the posts on this thread. Fry's Five Boys was the answer to one of the questions in a cryptic chocolate-themed quiz on here a good few months back to which I was pleased to supply the answer. Fry's were taken over by Cadbury's years ago, but kept many of their brand names, such as Five Boys and Crunchie. On the subject of dried reconstituted goods, I remember Surprise peas, which were a brilliant green and very juicy.
Google Five Boys if you want to know why it was so-called.
