Paris buns are popular in poorer areas of Scotland and Ireland for being cheap and filling.

We never fried the Paris Buns, plenty of butter on them though.

I've never heard ofFflies' Graveyards, but it reminds me of Garibaldi biscuits.

Flies Graveyards were a layer of currants between two slices of some sort of pastry. Maybe a bit like an Eccles cake?
Flies graveyards when I was a child were Garibaldi biscuits, you can still buy them and I still like them.

I've not seen a Paris Bun in a long time, but fruit slices are abundant here - supermarkets, bakers and Greggs always have them.
anneasquith, on the contrary, I no more deep fry eveything than NazNomad is forever found hanging out of a sheep and smoking laver bread but generalisations and stereotypes are all around us.
