Just put a pan of baking apples, sugar and currants on to simmer and guess what......I forgot about it and now the pan is black and the contents are in the bin!! Anyone got any ideas (apart from scrubbing) to get it off? Thanks
Once heard the best way was to fill with washing up liquid and boiling water, leave for two days, then bin it while no one is looking and get another one.
A friend once told me when she did this, her Mum told her to put it in the garden and the fairies would clean it for her. She did this quite often with good results until one day she found out that it was actually slugs eating all the burnt bits that 'cleaned' the pan and not the fairies! Still can't believe she fell for that one lol.
When I saw the first part of your question I thought "apart from...." was going to be followed by "...putting it in the bin too"
How about putting it in soak and waiting for OH to scrub it clean.
If I have a burnt pan I put neat fairy liquid into the still warm pan (it will foam a bit) then place some water into the pan and bring it to the boil and simmer for a little while and most of the burnt 'stuff' comes off.
