Big saucepan....special name?

Hi, I am looking to replace my much loved 'saucepan' that is really on it's last legs!

It's more of an oversized frying pan with a lid....Its roughly 13'' across and 3'' deep and I can't find anything like it.
Is there a special name for a pan like this? I've looked up lidded frying pans but they're just not deep enough.

yep, saute pan. we have a lovely one we bought from habitat years ago, we use it for practically everything, and still as good as new.

Def saute pan.

Highly recommend All Clad, they are things of beauty but you need to be feeling v flush to buy them (or have a loving Husband). Meyer do excellent ones too.

My husband bought me one about ten years ago and I use it every day. It cost £70 plus £10 for the glass lid, I thought it was a very extravagant present but it was well worth it. I think it is a saute pan. It has a special non-stick coating which is as good as the day he bought it.

As much as I'd love one of those I don't have the loving/rich husband so I think I'll go for this one instead!

As long as you find a pan that does what you want it too then all is good.

Got a fabulous one like you describe from Lidls just the other week. Has a handle both sides and a glass lid. It cost £12.99

I recently bought a stock pot from Wilkinsons and it is an extra large casserole.
And the best thing is it only costs £8.

Have had a couple from Lidl they were very good at first but quickly lost their non stick - I have bought a Meyer and so far so good - worth the extra as I use it nearly every day
