I have some pilau rice that went out of date on 2 April
I am going to eat it with a veg curry for lunch but Jamie says you need to be careful with rice. Its been in the fridge at home all the time - will it be ok?

No one appears to have mentioned that the danger with rice is if it is not cooled down quickly after it has been cooked. Bacillus cereus contaminates rice and other foods, leading to severe but short-lived food poisoning. Personally, I would cook my own and eat it straight away. If you must keep it rinse it in cold running water until completely cold and chill...

If you must keep it rinse it in cold running water until completely cold and chill straight away. Bought cooked rice will be treated like this so should be safe.
