Isn't long, slow cooking better for rice pud? I know that slow-cookers do it very well, but have no experience of halogen ones. I suspect it could get messy!
Hi I.Don No,
I have a halogen cooker & a couple of recipe books. I've searched them and no rice pudding recipes. I've found a halogen recipe site .. it's possibly American, not sure as I've only looked up 'rice pudding ' so far. It says to make up as normal in a 'deep' halogen ovenproof bowl ... they've used a deep casserole dish & not filled it more than 3/4 full as the milk will rise as cooking!! Set on 150 setting for two hours, lift the lid from time to time to give it a stir & that's it! So basically, your normal recipe on that setting for that amount of time.
