dairy free
does anyone have a recipe for dairy free cakes, biscuits or pastry please?
We have a child at our pre-school who cannot have milk or eggs and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find things to do on cooking day.
i don't want her to always make something different to the other children, i feel they should make what she can eat.
Baking is not my strong point - for example, if we were making a scone mix, can i just substitute the marge for dairy free marge, and would do you substitute eggs with?
I have looked on t'internet but so far have not found anything really. thanks in advance!

Vegan Baking also offers some more theoretical insights into replacing eggs and dairy products.
Here's a scone recipe that does without eggs altogether.
Try googling for "vegan baking" and "vegan cakes" for more hits.
Just had another thought: I've never baked cakes with it, but for pastry - both sweet and savoury - the finest shortening agent is good old-fashioned lard. You probably won't get this approved by the Nutrition Police, and I can imagine the tabloids would have a field day if they caught you at it, but it is egg and dairy free!
