Ah well, at least you didn't poison them kate.
Spending all day collecting and then making an inedible winkle curry.
Mine was Christmas dinner the first year I was married, nearly thirty years ago. I bought a fresh turkey, put it in the roasting dish to cook it , and didn't like the smell of it. Threw it in the bin, and we had tinned ham for Chtistmas dinner, When i spoke to my Mum she said fresh turkey was meant to smell like that and I should have cooked it....too late by then, but you learn by your mistakes. never heard of a winkle curry but you made me laugh so i gave you bestest answer.ha ha ha
I think the worst disaster was spending ALL day cooking Christmas for my ex's family - having checked the menu with them first. When they arrived, 2 out of the 4 couldn't eat most of the stuff or were just bloody rude about it. I ended up downing a bottle of plonk and going to bed pissed and pissed off.
Thanks kate, it was truly disgusting and like you has become a family 'story'.
This sounds terrible but I have never had a disaster in the kitchen - once added redcabbage to cheese sauce and ended up serving everyone purple cauliflower cheese - but thats it!!

No of course not....said sarky Gness....I've been lying here all day and I did have some breakfast in hospital yesterday. Why would I want anything to eat? Men don't twig, do they?
Lovely cooking smells from downstairs....I waited....and waited til I just had to crawl downstairs. There was OH eating a lovely hot dinner he'd cooked for himself.I popped my finger under his plate and tipped the dinner, with very hot gravy onto his lap and......... :-(
