Soft Bread Rolls

I have some bread mix in the bread machine
When I put them in the oven how can I stop them being crusty - I want soft rolls this time

I think the change in how you make the soft rolls begins with the mix, perhaps you add milk?

I'm not a baker by nature but am sure it must be in the mixing stage, which you have already done.
