Bread Pudding
13 Answers
Has anyone got a tried & tested recipe for bread pudding. My late mum gave me her recipe, but I never made it as my boys didn't like it.
I am sure my mum put suet in her pudding, but looking at various recipes, no suet used. Thanks.

There's a few recipes between these links and they're probably similar. I think I made Coriander's or Shaneystar's from the second link.
Think I'll have to make some now.
I used to make bread pudding for paying customers in the 90s.
I would use 2 stale crusty loaves( w/meal)
Cut up into chunks leave in a basin or big pot of water for about 4 hrs.
Squeeze water out by putting bread between 2 plates. Then transfer to large mixing bowl. Add 8oz melted butter. 8 oz brown sugar. 4 oz rolled oats. 1 tbsp mixed spices. Give it a good stir. Transfer to a well greased oblong roasting tin. Id wud also put a peice of greaseproof paper on top. Put in pre-heated oven gas mark 3 for about 45mins. Viola!
