Put my breadmaker on. Thought yes let’s have some tasty bread. Walked into lounge.heard huge bang! Ran into kitchen - breadmaker was actually on kitchen floor!! Socket on wall was split in two! god knows what happened but wall socket was ripped in half and bread maker was 10 feet away, on the floor! Had an electrician out within hours and even he said he’d not seen anything like it loo
Be grateful it was in the lighter stage of the events cycle otherwise the machine might have launched itself through the ceiling to the room above setting fire to whatever was there and eventually consumed the whole house.
"Normally" if an appliance has a fault an rcd will go in the consumer unit, mine normally goes if a light bulb blows. A tad annoying but better safe than sorry.
Fused items don't blow up - that's what the fuses are for! You must have a large kitchen for something to be blown 10 feet from the work surface. Hilarious?
