Unfortunately I dont see England walloping France...at best a draw or hard faught 1-0 win. But I can see France walloping England though if Mbapp is at he's best, maybe 3-1 or 4-1

Made a left over veg soup with a beef rib. Very tasty mopped up with warm crusty rolls.

a fat ribeye here, English mushroom and deep-fried onions, fries not frites, mayo for the Fries the only concession to les Belges et les Grenouilles. Even a Chilean Merlot.....

Been a busy week, so the chef (moi) had a night off and we had :

Lasagne à la Lidl
Sourdough Rolls à la Aldi

washed down with

Wine à la Australia

All of which were very good indeed - Herr Lidl's Lasagne was actually ridiculously fine for the €3.79 - and loads for the two of us.

Made me wonder why I ever bother to cook lasagne from scratch.

I fancied fish and chips when I met my friend for lunch today, we both did, so we had them and very nice they were too. First time I've had them for ages.

If you make a full pan and get 8 portions out of it, it just *might* be worth it ;)
