Just watched their programme and really fancy doing the above..no pastry, no faff, just an assembly job using a slice of white bread, crusts cut off and rolled thin with a rolling pin. A spoon of bought mincemeat spread over, a finger of marzipan, then all rolled up, brushed with melted butter and a good sprinkling of sugar.
Bake 180 for 15 minutes.

Sounds right up my street, would it work without the marzipan do you think? For other lazy bones like me I can highly recommend Lidl deluxe mince pies

Can’t see why not Margo, I’d give it a go.
I'll give it a whirl
Question Author
Well I’ve just made these, and they are delicious and super easy. I made ten.
The only problem is that you get left with a load of crusts which I couldn’t think what to do with, threw them in the bin and then realised I could have made a smallish bread and butter pud with them. Doh!
So do you cut them up like slicing Swiss roll before brushing with butter and cooking? Or do you eat them whole?
Question Author
No, you eat them whole, they’re about as big as a spring roll.
Oh wow! Thanks for coming back to me Vagus.

You’re welcome stray dog, I like letting anyone interested know if I find some foodie thing worth a go, and these definitely are.
Hope you enjoy them if you have a bash ;)
