Apologies to Babalicious
Babalicious - I did not mean my comment that way at all.
I did not intend to make fun of you by any stretch of the imagination. I just thought you would think it was funny when you got here and saw what a HUGE variety of snacks we have in the USA!!!
I am very surprised and also very sorry to hear that you couldn't find ANY that pleased you.
Again, my apologies.

I find it difficult to see how your comments could have made anyone seem a fool.Possibly babalicious was just overwhelmed by too much choice. If you ever choose to visit the UK, you will see that it is somewhat different lol!
Pastafreak honey what a sweetie you are to say that!!!
I have always wanted to visit the UK - especially since meeting so many people that are so nice - like you - online -unfortunately, a bad back and old age prevents it :)
I didn't see how my comments could have been misconstrued either (or I definitely would not have made them) - but since they were, I wanted to offer a sincere apology for all the world to see - because it was definitely NOT my intention to do that.
I also didn't mean to make a comparison between the snacks in the USA and the UK - all I meant to say is that we have soooooo many - I thought anyone could find at least ONE thing they liked here - and that they would find it funny that they had brought snacks with them when they came to visit. Apparently I was wrong about that too!!!
I do wish I could visit the UK though - some of my ancestors came from that part of the world - it would be nice to see my roots :)

In August I visited my family back in NY for the first time in over 14 years and I was shocked at the sheer amount of "stuff" that could be bought! My daughter and I didshop til we dropped-lol! I hope someday to go back to my roots -Dad came from South Carolina...I can look you up. Keep up all your wonderful advice!
Pastafreak honey - your Southern heritage overpowers the rest lol.
I don't mind you asking at all. I was born -
September 23, 1946 - the first of the baby boomers.
Thanks for THINKING I am with it:) I guess I am as much with it as an old lady my age can be - which probably isn't much:)

Dear BBW, I don't want to seem nasty but you are carrying on with false pretenses: You are not at all old, wait 20 years and then I might not argue with you. If your back is really bad and you cannot sit for 5-6 hours then I'll accept that as an excuse for not travelling to Europe, but age itself is no excuse ! :) My aunt who lives in the US came to visit us at 81 (bad legs, we got a wheelchair for the trek around Florence during a brief excursion to Italy - see, more flying without grumbling) and had a terrific time - have a go. The security fuss is a nuisance but not prohibitively so and one puts up with it for the joy of being exposed to something new and completely different.
