Sausage Casserole

I'd like to make a sausage casserole from scratch, I've never made one before so would like some ideas please? Don't mind what sort!

I have Googled recipes, but I think the tried and tested way is best!

whats wrong with colmans mix and water?

I have plenty in the cupboard, but having had a homemade one in a restaurant; it tasted so nice I think I would like to have a go at making my own!

Usually just shove a packet mix in. but I'm feeling all inspired today!
i reckon its a leftover nesting hormone, i made fairy cakes at weekend.

dont worry, it soon passes :)

Try cooking it in Strongbow, or Magners.

It must be good coz my friend is always saying that ...




... she likes a sausage in cider.
I find it's nice with the following (all to taste)
onion
Garlic
Some chicken stock or similar
A little tomato puree
Worcester sauce
Good spoldge of tomato sauce which makes it sticky)
Some tinned tomatoes OR Fresh
Some Red Wine
A little sugar to taste, salt and pepper

Add all these to a pan until boiled down then add par-cooked sausages to the mix in a baking tray/casserole dish and cook until completely cooked through and soft (around an hour or longer if you can) Serve with mashed potato. Yum
