Substitute for ground almond?
6 Answers
What can I substitute ground almonds with? I am allergic to all nuts. I have several cake/cupcake recipes that call for ground almonds. The recipes come from a cook book that gives healthier alternatives to the full fat versions. Can I use flour in equal porportions? or can I use breadcrumbs? any suggestions will help.

If the recipe calls for a large amount of ground almonds, I would assume that corn flour could provide the missing 'bulk', but still with the addition of vanilla extract to provide some flavour.

Thank you for the help. A lot of the recipes call for about
1 1/4 cups of ground almonds. I am not sure what it is replacing, etc. flour. I started watching a show on Lifetime called, Cook Yourself Thin. Most of the baking recipes call for ground almond. So, maybe I will try the recipes with cornmeal or ground rice. Never would of thought of that. Any more suggestion, I would love to hear them.
