Hey Jan... you were asking about food ideas so I did a little research into Cancer fighting foods.
Tomatoes, green tea, turmeric, sweet potatoes, seaweed, ginger, garlic, kale, figs, chillies, nuts and seeds, mushrooms (exotic varieties such as shiitake), kale, red onions and flax seem to be the most potent.
Figs contain Benzaldehyde which Japanese studies have shown to be potent in shrinking tumours. Exotic mushrooms contan Lectin - this attacks cancerous cells and prevents them multiplying. The hot ingredient in chillis has been shown to make cancer cells self distruct and it is anti-metastatic and anti tumour too.
You could make healthy stir frys and coleslaws, replacing mayonnaise with healthy salad dressings made from Olive Oil, lemon juice and grated raw garlic and ginger. Sprinkle some pre-soaked nuts and seeds and flax powder over the top to really increase the nutritional content of the meal. Soaking nuts and seeds in warm water and then drying them out helps neutralise the acid content and stimulates enzyme activity and can increase it ten-fold.

Shredded purple cabbage and grated beetroot are excellent and red onions too. All cruciferous veg such as Broccoli, cauli, kale, sprouts are superb sources of cancer fighting nutrients and if your husband can stomach raw chillies, remember the hotter the better and you could finely dice them and add them to your salad dressings. Cooking tomatoes will help concentrate levels of lycopene and studies have shown that when this is combined with Olive oil, the cancer-busting ability is strengthened.
