HOW DOES ONE COOK COD OR HADDOCK STRAIGHT FROM THE FREEZER IN THE MICROWAVE?
4 Answers
My mum (now departed) used to do something with fish straight from the freezer which involved tablespoons of water, lemon and kitchen paper. The fish was always gorgeous, light and fluffy.
I tried it last week but did something wrong as the fish was like rubber. I put kitchen paper over the top of the dish and a few tablespoons of water and lemon juice in the dish. Timed it for 3 1/2 mins in 750 microwave.
Grateful for help as having been a single girl, I am new to microwaves and freezers.

You also have to remember that the heat in the fish will continue to cook it for another minute or so. Try 90 secs, leave it to rest 30 secs and if the fish 'flakes' it's done. It's a case of trial and error. Personally, I put my frozen fish into foil parcels with some lemon juice and pepper and cook it in an oven (not microwave) for about 20 minutes and it's always fine even if it's left in for 30 minutes.
