Best Ever Chilli: (serves 4)
Fry about 250-300g beef (either minced or very finely diced steak) and transfer to a large saucepan.
Then fry 1 large onion (chopped) with 2 cloves of crushed/diced garlic for a couple of minutes then add a chopped red pepper, a diced chilli (or more, to taste), a sprinkle each of cinnamon, cumin and oregano and some salt and pepper and continue to fry until the onions and peppers are soft. Pour this over the meat in the saucepan.
Add 400g kidney beans, 400g pinto beans (or chickpeas if you prefer) and 2x400g chopped tomatoes (or equivalent from fresh), a really good squirt of tomato puree, a splash of worcester sauce, a splash of balsamic vinegar and a sprinkling of coriander. Give it a really good stir then bring to the boil and simmer with the lid askew for about 45 minutes.
Add some water if required, and add some sliced mushrooms if you like, and a sprinkle of cocoa or chocolate powder, then simmer for a further 30 minutes.
Yum yum yum :)
