Need a substitute for Golden Mushroom soup

I have a recipe that uses condensed Golden Mushroom soup. However I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone tell me how I can substitute this ingredient in my recipe please? The recipe specifically says do not use cream of mushroom.

1. Is there a reason for it needing to be 'condensed'? (Are you adding water too?)

2. Laborious, but you can make it (uncondensed) if you're stuck.

Just use beef stock, with a bit of tomato purée and some sliced mushrooms.. You're aiming for a thinner soup than cream of mushroom, with a beef and mushroom flavour.

Chris' suggestion is certainly unique... but, do you have a can of Cream of Chicken? It works well...

If the recipe calls for 'condensed' surely it is requiring something less watery. The Cambells soup contents come out in a great lump!

As Naz says, you could try cream of but delete an appropriate amount of water from the recipe (if there is any).

The recipe for Golden Mushroom Soup is on the web site: www.recipetips.com. Its the same as Buenchico said, beef stock with tomato puree etc.

...condensed soups used to be marketed as Campbells (with or without p?) but is now labelled Batchelors.
