Chocolate fondant is a delicious chocolate dessert; it is heaven for any chocolate lover. The centre is gooey, runny chocolate, surrounded by a soft moist chocolate sponge. So next time the kids are out of the house and you have sometime alone, enjoy a romantic evening with a perfect chocolaty dessert and a glass of wine.
Ingredients
- 60g Butter
- 60g Chocolate, over 60% cocoa solids
- 60g all purpose flour
- 1 egg and 1 egg yolk
- 70g sugar
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180C or gas mark 4.
- Butter two Ramekins and then dust with cocoa.
- Melt butter and chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Once melted leave to cool.
- Whisk the eggs and sugar together until pale and thick, then add the melted chocolate mixture.
- Add flour to the mixture and fold until smooth, divide between ramekins.
- Put in oven for 10 minutes or according to taste, the longer it is in the more the centre gets cooked so becomes a sponge instead of gooey runny chocolate.
