Fruit Scones

Forget about lunch, cream tea is a much tastier, sweeter option. Sit back and relax with a cup of tea and a delicious soft fruity scone covered in lashing of clotted cream and strawberry jam.
Scones are a perfect recipe for the amature baker; they are simple, quick, taste great and you will be making them for years to come. You always need something ready for when guests pop round, tea and a scone is a perfect light treat that will keep your guests happy.
Ingredients
- 450g self raising flour
- 110g butter
- 110g sultanas
- 50g sugar
- 150ml milk
- ½ tsp salt
Method
- Preheat oven to 190C.
- Rub the butter into flour, until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
- Add the sugar, sultanas and salt and mix in enough milk to make a soft dough.
- Divided the dough into 12 portions and make flattened circles about 2 cm thick, places on a greased baking tray and brush milk over scones.
- Bake for 10 - 15 minutes until risen and golden.
