Peanut Butter And Chocolate Fudge

16:37 Mon 24th May 2010 |

Peanut butter and chocolate is a well known and very much loved combination. Fudge is a delicious, classic sweet; so of course together they make perfect sense. Peanut butter chocolate fudge is amazing. It is sweet and gooey, and the nutty, creamy, slightly salty peanut butter fudge spread on top of the chocolate layer works perfectly. For an extra special surprise there are lots of chocolate chips hiding in the peanut butter fudge.

This is an ideal naughty sweet treat for anyone who enjoys a good peanut butter sandwich or any chocoholic out there and a big hit with children.

For the chocolate layer

  • 400ml condensed milk
  • 75g butter
  • 300g chocolate

For the peanut butter layer

  • 400ml condensed milk
  • 200g peanut butter
  • 40g butter
  • 90g chocolate chips

  1. First make the chocolate fudge. In a saucepan heat the condensed milk, butter and chocolate together, allow the chocolate to melt then bring to a boil stirring constantly. Reduce to a simmer.
  2. The fudge is ready when you can drop a little of the mixture in to a bowl of cold water and form a soft ball of fudge.
  3. Pour the fudge into a lined tray and next make the peanut butter fudge.
  4. Incorporate all peanut butter fudge ingredients in a saucepan, except the chocolate chips. Heat up to make fudge in the same way as the chocolate fudge.
  5. Once it is ready allow to cool a little and then mix in the chocolate chips. Pour on top of the chocolate fudge and leave to cool.
  6. Slice into squares.
