Salmon Breakfast Bagel

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should be enjoyed; a salmon bagel is a delicious start to any day. A lightly toasted bagel with lashings of cream cheese and salmon is irresistible and quick to make so there is no reason to just have toast or skip breakfast.

A salmon bagel is also a very well rounded nutritious breakfast, the salmon is low fat protein, you are getting calcium from low fat cheese, eating tomatoes and lettuce one of your five a day and the bagel contains whole grains. A salmon bagel is great for your heart and waist line. Being good doesn’t have to be hard.

Ingredients

  • 2 bagels
  • 180g smoked salmon
  • 100g Low fat cream cheese
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 Tomato, sliced
  • Lettuce

Method

  1. Slice the bagels in half and lightly toast the bagels on both sides, under a grill.
  2. Spread the cream cheese on to the bagel and top with a few slices of tomatoes and lettuce.
  3. Place the salmon on top and squeeze a little lemon on.
