Stilton Burger

Homemade burgers are quick, easy and so much tastier then frozen ones. You also know exactly what is in it and you have the choice of using wonderful ingredients, high quality lean mince makes a huge difference to the taste.

For anyone who loves cheese, this stilton burger is hard to beat. A thick juicy beef burger with melted stilton cheese oozing from the centre, perfect food for a perfect summer day but still equally as tasty with an English winter.

Ingredients

  • 450g lean minced beef
  • 1 onion
  • 5 tsp mixed dried herbs
  • 5 ml mustard
  • 50g stilton cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • Salt and ground pepper

Method

  1. Pre-heat the grill. Place the minced beef in a bowl with the chopped onions. Mix together and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Stir in the herbs and mix together ingredients.
  3. Divided the mixture into eight equal portions, roll into balls and flatten.
  4. Divided the cheese into four. Then place the stilton in the middle of four of the mince balls put another ball of mince on top and enclose cheese. Shape into four burgers.
  5. Grill for 5 minutes on each side, serve in a bun.
