Toad In The Hole

Toad in the hole is a British classic; you can’t go wrong with sausages in Yorkshire pudding. Sausages are good, tasty, hearty food and Yorkshire pudding is almost certainly the best part of a Sunday roast. Serve up with vegetables and mash potatoes and you have a great, easy, midweek meal, which your whole family will enjoy.  

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 125g plain flour
  • 150ml milk mixed with 150ml cold water
  • Salt and pepper
  • 250g fatty pork sausages
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Method

  1. Whisk together eggs, flour, milk and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a roasting tin with the oil in it, leave until smoking.
  3. Pour in batter, and place sausages.
  4. Bake for about 30 minutes until golden.
