Sims Launcher Not Working Any Advice Please?
All stuff on old PC was transferred to new PC by taking out hard drive and transferring data over including Sims updates, expansion packs etc. When I went to re-install SIMS 3 with disk it reinstalled but now when I try to access it I get message 'sims launcher not found'. I've tried uninstall-reinstall twice now with no effect. I'm running Microsoft Security but can't find a file in quarantine. The Operating system is Windows 7 Professional . Any suggestions please?

Could it be that you need to install the Origin launcher from EA? I seem to remember that being the case when I installed Sims 3 on my PC. http:// store. origin. com/ store/ eaemea/ en_ GB/ home/ ThemeID. 850300/ ccRef. en_ US

hi methyl. You click a desktop icon to launch the game. When i click on it the message comes up 'Sims launcher not found'. i have uninstalled all security, reinstalled game and its still not working so the security quarantining the file was not an issue. I will do as you suggest and see if i can find the file somewhere on the hard drive. I thought the launcher would be installed onto the hard drive when you install the game. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Have you tried uninstalling the program using Revo http:// downloa d.cnet. com/Rev o-Unins taller/ 3000-20 96_4-10 687648. html ?
This is one of several available programs that not only uninstall a program using its own uninstaller but then search for anything else that is left over and let's you delete those items (with the registry in particular, it's up to you to make sure that you don't delete entries that are used by other programs). It doesn't work properly for me using Windows 8 but used to be fine for previous versions of Windows.

Thank you bibblebub for your reply and link. I'm sorry I can't give you the best answer as when I picked it I'd only had one reply and it didn't look like I was going to get anymore, but I appreciate you taking time to post the link , I shall try it when I have time -just off to work at the moment - and let you know if it worked. Thanks!

Update in case anyone else comes up with this problem. Managed to open an expansion pack which then advised me to update the launcher. Clicked Computer-local disk-programme files ( x 86 ) -Electronic Arts - Sims 3 Expansion pack ( ie Sims Ambitions) -game file -bin file - Sims 3 launcher -click update.
I have to admit I did not do this on my own, daughter number 2 came over to borrow something and managed to sort it out. Thank you for your replies
