latest driver for my pc????

i have just bought sims 2 for my pc but it keeps freezing and is running really slow. i have run checksj for viruses and got rid of them, i have uninstalled all the things i do not use anymore, i have done everything i can think of and it still isn't working properly. i have windows xp and my pc is only 18 months old, i have checked and there is more than enough momory on my pc. the only thing i can now think is it says in the book to install the very latest driver. but i have followed the instructions and i'm not getting anywhere, how do i install the latest driver? or could there be something i'm not thinking of? please help???!!!! my pc is an emachines 3220 by the way. thanks.x

What is your cpu speed and what does it say on the sims 2 box? this is much more likely to be your problem than memory.

It may be that you have an incompatable video card. If thats not it try checking your virtual memory. The minimum should be 1.5 times the memory you have in the machine and the max should be 3 times.

The driver they are talking about is the video card driver. The best thing you could do for that is to go to the video card manufacturers website and find the latest driver there. It will probably be under "downloads" or "drivers".

Right click my computer and select properties for the cpu speed. Right click my computer select properties, note the ram, click advanced, performance settings, advanced, at the bottom you will see virtual memory, select change. Note the min and max. The minimum should be 1.5 times the noted ram and the max should be 3 times the noted ram.
