Best PC games

What are the best games for the PC? I never used to play games on my PC but I bought call of duty and absolutely love it. I have also bought Ghost recon but haven't played it yet. These are the kind of games I like but would also like car racing games and flying shoot-em ups (use to play afterburner in the amusements). What are the best games out there for me?

I think Battlefield2 is worth a look - obviously need fast internet connection. If the pc is up to it, Half-life 2 is a must see. A good, but slightly older game you might like is Far Cry...
All these are FPS style and all have big web communities so you can look into them further.

The splinter cell series are worth a look if you like slow paced/stealth type games.

UT2004 is a good online game with plenty of mods to keep you occupied.

I have just bought The Ship for �20, basically explore a large cruise ship assassinating people for money in new and inventive ways with out being bumped off first by someone else.

Its got to Battlefield two all the way. My persoanl favourite for the PC. Its soo adictive because of the VOIP (Voice Over the Internet Protocal - allows you to talk to your team members to laugh, joke and co-ordinate attack) adds such an amazing element.

The ship is great, I'm only playing the single player story mode, when I get used to the game I may venture online.
